Creating an Advertisement (Ad) on the Bitfinex P2P Market Place is a simple two-step process. Here's how it works:

Step 1: Define Ad Characteristics

In this initial step, you select the specific details of your Ad. For instance, you determine the price at which you wish to sell your tokens. If your intention is solely to exchange one token for another, then this step covers all your requirements. It's a straightforward process that allows you to set the desired parameters for your Ad.

Step 2: Choose a Payment Method

The second step involves selecting a Payment Method, which is necessary if you want to trade a token for a fiat currency of your choice. In this step, you can assign one or more pre-created Payment Methods to your Ad. By following these two simple steps, you can create an Ad on the Bitfinex P2P Market Place and start engaging in efficient and secure trading transactions.

How to Create an Advertisement

1. Firstly, log in to your Bitfinex P2P account.

2. Make sure that you have entered at least one Payment method previously. You can read more about Payment Methods in our article Payment Methods — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

3. Once logged in, go to https://p2p.bitfinex.com and, above the Ad Board, you will find the Create Ad button.

4. You will then be directed to fill in details about the order you would like to make, either to buy or sell fiat or to swap your cryptocurrency for other tokens.

How to Create an Advertisement for Fiat

1. In this first example, we will look into how to create an Ad for a user to publicize their interest in buying Bitcoin (BTC) using Colombian Pesos (COP).

Start by choosing the action you want to perform. In this case we go with the default choice, which is Buy, since we are looking to purchase tokens from someone using fiat currency.

2. Select the base currency (token) you want to buy on the top-left dropdown. In this case we go with the default, which is Bitcoin.

3. Select Fiat from the selector on the right side of the window, and then choose COP from the list.  

4. Set the Ad availability. Since we selected Buy on step 1, we must write in the box How much? the amount of tokens we wish to purchase using COP. 

5. Choose a pricing strategy, in this example we keep the default selection which is Fixed. You can review our article Understanding Ad Pricing for P2P to know more.

6. Set your fixed price for this Ad. 

7. Set the minimum and maximum order size for this Ad in COP.
Note: This will ensure that any order from a Taker cannot be lower than the minimum amount or higher than the maximum amount. This is useful for example in situations when, due to the particularities of the selected payment method, you wish to ensure a maximum is not crossed or, in alternative, if you don’t want to dedicate time to transactions below a certain amount (This field is optional).

8. Choose whether or not to introduce Dynamic Availability.

9. Click Continue on the footer.

10. Select one or more of your existing Payment Methods as mentioned in step 2, from the dropdown entitled Pay with. The information displayed in Deadline for Payment as well as Conditions of Trade and Auto-reply will be updated according to the Payment Method selected.

11. Once you select one or more Payment Methods, click Continue on the footer.

12. You will see a summary page where you can confirm all the characteristics of your Ad before committing to bringing it Live. 

13. If you finally click Continue on the footer, your Ad will be created and that’s it!

How to Create an Advertisement for Swapping Tokens

Swapping tokens for other tokens on the Bitfinex P2P Market Place is instant and easy. In this second example, we will look into how to create an Ad for a user to publicize their interest in selling Tether Gold (XAUt) tokens in exchange for U.S. dollar pegged Tether tokens (USDt).

1. We start by choosing the action we want to perform. We must set the Ad to Sell since we are the owner of the tokens and wish to sell them. For transparency, the action is also reflected in the Base Currency dropdown label.

2. Select the base currency (token) we want to Sell on the top-left dropdown, in this case, XAUt.

3. Select Crypto from the selector on the right side of the window, and then choose USDt from the list.  

4. Set the Ad availability. Since we selected Sell on step 1, we should write in the box How much? the amount of XAUt tokens we have available to sell via this Ad in exchange for USDt.

5. Choose a pricing strategy, in this example we choose a floating price with +0.5% spread.

6. Set the minimum and maximum order size for this Ad in USDt.
Note: This will ensure that any order from a Taker can’t be lower than the minimum amount or higher than the maximum amount (This field is optional). 

7. Next, choose whether or not to introduce Dynamic Availability.

8. Before clicking Continue on the footer, ensure you have enough balance in your exchange wallet to cover the availability stated in the How much? field, otherwise the Ad creation process will be rejected.

9. If you finally click Continue on the footer, your Ad will be created and that’s it!

Important: The feature is locked in some regions. The possibility to create Ads will be rolled out in a controlled way, which means that, if a user whose account is not verified in one of the supported regions, were to try and create an Ad, it would see a dialog box such as the one shown below. 

Over time, Bitfinex will support more regions for this feature. The currently supported regions for the creation of Ads are:

• Argentina
• Colombia
• Venezuela
• Panama
• Vietnam

10. Finally, click on Continue to place your Ad.

11. Great! Now your order will appear in your Live tab.
