eCash (XEC) is a cryptocurrency that’s designed to be used as electronic cash. eCash makes it possible to send money directly to other people online. This includes being able to use eCash to pay for goods and services.
eCash was briefly known as Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) until its rebranding in July 2021.
Consequently, the cryptocurrency is eCash, and Bitcoin ABC is the software used to communicate with and manage the eCash network.
Note: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a fork of Bitcoin Cash (BCash), which formed two chains following the fork of November 15, 2018. Bitcoin ABC is a full node implementation of the Bitcoin Cash protocol.
It aims to provide solid, stable software and help lead Bitcoin Cash protocol development with an open and collaborative process. If you deposit unsplit tokens in a replay transaction (for example via an un-updated wallet) then we will be unable to recover this deposit. Please exercise extreme caution when making transactions.
