Ontario customers are customers who are residents of Ontario, Canada; any Person established or organised in or under the laws of Ontario, Canada; or any Person owned or controlled by residents of Ontario.
— I am a resident of Ontario. Can I open an account and trade on Bitfinex?
Starting October 21, 2021, Bitfinex has been blocking Ontario customers from opening an account with Bitfinex. As announced on January 14, 2022, Bitfinex has begun limiting the services available to some existing Ontario customers and starting March 1, 2022, Ontario customers will no longer have access to Bitfinex Services.
— I have an account on Bitfinex, and I am resident in Ontario. Can I withdraw my funds?
Yes. You should withdraw funds from Bitfinex on or before March 1, 2022.
— I was offering funds when the announcement was made. What can I do?
If the funding you are offering is repaid before March 1, 2022, you will be able to withdraw your funds. If not, we will work with you to help you exit your positions and withdraw your funds on or before March 1, 2022. If you require assistance, feel free to contact Bitfinex Support.
— I am no longer an Ontario resident, how can I get restrictions lifted?
If you no longer reside in Ontario, update your new residential address and upload proof of address to your Verification page under Manage Documents. Then contact Bitfinex Support for further assistance.
