Following the Terra chain migration, Bitfinex supported the Rebirth Terra Network airdrop. As per the official announcement, the new airdropped token was named LUNA2 and was distributed in accordance with Terra’s Airdrop Calculation Logic.
Bitfinex Airdrop Distribution Policy
Bitfinex completed the LUNA2 Airdrop as of May 26th 2022, and all airdropped tokens were distributed as LUNA2 in accordance with Terra’s Airdrop Calculation Logic.
This included a pre-attack snapshot taken on 7th May 2022 at block 7544910 that will be distributed pro-rata based on Bitfinex compensation received in accordance with the Terra Rebirth distribution proposal.
The methodology for determining pre-attack margin positions:
- Bitfinex will net out the LUNA longs against the LUNA short positions;
- Post-attack snapshot will be taken at block 7,790,000 ( approximately on 26/05/22 at 07:59 PM UTC). Based on the Terra Rebirth distribution proposal, Bitfinex would receive compensation that will be distributed to legacy LUNA and TerraUST holders as LUNA2 tokens.

The new airdropped token is called LUNA2.
Updated UI and API tickers:
- Legacy Luna token UI ticker = LUNA
- New Luna token UI ticker = LUNA2
- Legacy Luna token API ticker = LUNA
- New Luna token API ticker = LUNA2
Trading of LUNA2 commenced on 28/05/2022 at 10:30 PM UTC and was made available to trade with US Dollars (LUNA2/USD) and TETHER tokens (LUNA2/USDt).
