What is Celo (CELO)
The Celo token is the native cryptocurrency of the Celo carbon-negative, permissionless blockchain. It is a governance asset that is used to maintain and operate the Celo platform, a mobile-first oriented ecosystem. As of today, over 1,000 projects in over 150 countries back the Celo platform, building Web3 dapps to support a more inclusive financial system.
Important: As per this announcement, Bitfinex supported the Celo (CELO) L1 to L2 transition on 26/03/2025.
