What is Plasma (XPL)
XPL is the native token of the Plasma blockchain, a Layer-1 network purpose-built for stablecoins. XPL is used for securing the network through staking, paying transaction fees, and incentivizing validators. Unlike traditional blockchains, Plasma allows gas fees to be paid in stablecoins like USDt. The XPL token plays a key role in supporting Plasma ecosystem governance, and its goal of enabling fast, low-cost (i.e. zero-fees USDt transfers), and scalable stablecoin transfers.
