What is Polkadot (DOT)
Polkadot (DOT) is the native token of the Polkadot platform, created for the purpose of carrying out the key functions of the platform.
DOT tokens serve four key functions in Polkadot, namely (i) providing governance for the network, (ii) operating the network, (iii) creating parachains by bonding DOTs, (iv) fees for ferrying messages across parachains.

Note: As announced, Polkadot (DOT) was migrated from the Relay Chain to the Asset Hub on November 4, 2025. Following this migration, we now only support DOT deposits sent via the Asset Hub. While the Relay Chain remains operational, any DOT deposits sent to our platform via the Relay Chain will be classified as an incorrect deposit. Such incorrect deposits sent via the Relay Chain will be subject to our cross-chain token recovery process.
