OpenPayd is a global payment and banking-as-a-service (BaaS) platform for the digital economy. Bitfinex collaborates with OpenPayd to provide wire deposit and withdrawal services for Bitfinex accounts with Intermediate and above verification levels.
Important: EUR and GBP deposits and withdrawals require Intermediate verification or above. USD requires Full verification.

EUR: Transfers are processed via SEPA or SEPA Instant. If your bank supports SEPA Instant, the system will select it automatically. Please note that instant transfers require both the sending and receiving bank to support the SEPA Instant network.
GBP: All Pound Sterling transfers through OpenPayd are conducted via Faster Payments Service (FPS).
USD: Transfers are processed as standard SWIFT transfers.
How to make a wire deposit with OpenPayd on Bitfinex
1. First, log in to your Bitfinex account and ensure that your account is at the required verification level.
Note: If you are not yet verified at the right level, you can upgrade your verification here.
2. Then, navigate to the Wallet page > Deposits > Bank transfer > Euro, Pound Sterling or US Dollar.
3. Select the wallet you want to deposit your funds to, as well as the deposit amount.
4. Following, select OpenPayd as your way of transferring the deposit.
Note: If you select Manual as your processor, your deposit will be processed through Bitfinex rather than OpenPayd. Your account would have to be at the Full Verification level to proceed with manual wires. You can learn more about Verification levels at Bitfinex.
5. Select the country your bank is located in and accept the following OpenPayd Notice and Acknowledgement terms.
6. You will receive the wire recipient information from which you will need to wire your funds to in order to complete the deposit.
Important:
- EUR & GBP: There is no minimum deposit amount. The fee is €5/£5 per transaction.
- USD: The minimum deposit amount is 10,000 USD. The fee is 0.1% (minimum 30 USD) per transaction.
How to make a wire withdrawal with OpenPayd on Bitfinex
1. To begin, log in to your Bitfinex account and verify that your account is at the required verification level as mentioned above.
Note: If you have not yet completed or upgraded your verification, you can do so here.
2. Then, navigate to the Wallet page > Withdrawals > Bank transfer.
3. Following this, you can select OpenPayd.
Important:
- EUR & GBP: The minimum withdrawal amount is €25/£25. For withdrawal amounts of 10,000 EUR/GBP or less, a fee of €5/£5 per transaction applies. For withdrawals greater than 10,000 EUR/GBP per transaction, the fee is 0.1%.
- USD: The minimum withdrawal amount is 10,000 USD. The fee is 0.1% (minimum 30 USD) per transaction.
Notes:
- You will be able to make one withdrawal of less than 10,000 EUR/GBP per day.
- If you select Manual as your processor, your withdrawal will be processed through Bitfinex rather than OpenPayd.
The first time you use the OpenPayd service, you will need to agree to the Terms of Service before you can proceed to finalise the withdrawal.
4. You will be guided to fill in information about your beneficiary bank. This will be where OpenPayd will wire your requested withdrawal funds.
5. Next, enter your Google Authenticator 2FA to confirm you wish to proceed with the withdrawal.
Note: If your account is verified at an intermediate level and does not currently meet the Greenlane requirements, you will receive an email with a link to confirm your withdrawal. However, if your account is fully verified, you will not receive an email confirmation request regardless of your Greenlane status.
OpenPayd Deposit and Withdrawal Processing Times
Deposits
USD (SWIFT): Typically credited within 24 hours on business days once received.
EUR (SEPA / SEPA Instant): Typically credited within 1 business day. If sent via SEPA Instant, funds will arrive virtually instantly.
GBP (Faster Payments Service - FPS): Typically credited within 2 hours.
Important Note: In some cases, processing times may vary from the timeframes indicated above.
Withdrawals
USD (SWIFT): Typically processed within 24 hours on business days.
EUR (SEPA / SEPA Instant): Typically processed within 1 business day. If your receiving bank supports SEPA Instant, the transfer will be virtually instant.
GBP (Faster Payments Service - FPS): Typically processed within 2 hours.
Important Note: Funds will be credited to your account following processing by the receiving party. Please note that the times above may be subject to delays based on the processing times of the receiving institution. For USD SWIFT transfers, processing times may be subject to additional delays based on the schedules of any intermediary or correspondent banks involved in the network routing. Bitfinex cannot guarantee processing of your withdrawal by the receiving institution within a specified time frame as the receiving institution will have its own procedures and processing times.
Supported and Prohibited Jurisdictions by Currency
The supported and prohibited jurisdictions vary depending on the currency you are using:
- USD is limited to a specific set of countries. Please refer to the OpenPayd USD Supported Jurisdictions list below.
- EUR and GBP are widely available. Please refer to the OpenPayd Prohibited Jurisdictions list below to see which countries are excluded.

Network eligibility depends on both the Bitfinex account holder’s residency and their bank's location. To successfully transact via OpenPayd, your bank must also operate within an approved jurisdiction.
