A Google Account is a type of account designed to be a masterkey to login in third party platforms, which can be accessed both on mobile app and website.

The Bitfinex website adapts the full functionality of the Bitfinex platform for seamless login with your Google Account. 

How to log in to Bitfinex using a Google account

1. Firstly, go to the login page.

2. Select Continue with Google.

Note: If you do not have a Google account yet, you can sign up for one immediately and then proceed to link it on Bitfinex Settings > Account.

3. Select your Google account.

4. The System prompts for Standard Bitfinex 2FA verification (Regardless if you have 2FA in the Google account, you are still required to setup a Google 2FA towards a Bitfinex account).

How to Sign Up using your Google Account:

1. Go to the Sign Up page and click Continue with Google;
2. Select the Google account you want to use;
3. Input your country of residence and insert your referral code, if you have one;

4. Click in “Sign up with Google”;
5. Complete the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) setup;
6. Your account is created successfully.

Note: No password is required during sign-up when using Google SSO. You may optionally set a password later as a fallback.

How to link a Bitfinex Account to a Google Account

If you are already a user of  Bitfinex you need to link the google account in order to use the SSO.

1. Go to your account settings page;

2. Select “Link your Google Account”; 

3. Confirm you are aware of a 5-day hold related to this change;

4. Select your Google account;

5. Confirm the change by verifying your 2FA;

How to set a password fallback

Users can optionally set a password fallback to ensure account access if Google access is lost.

1. Go to your Account Settings;
2. Click in “Add Password”;
3. Follow the password requirements and click in “Submit”;

4. Confirm the changes using your 2FA token;

How to Unlink your Google Account of your Bitfinex Account

1. Make sure you have set a password fallback to your account. If you have not set a password to your account, please check the section above;
2. Click in “Unlink”;

3. Confirm your changes using your 2FA token;

4. You will be logged out in order to login with your unlinked account (login and password).
